Huntington Beach

Wade and Owen took in an afternoon at the beach while the big kids finished up the day at Disneyland. What a fun and beautiful thing the beach is! Way to maximize the awesomeness, Owen!

Disneyland July part 2 (the Sellers edition)

The family had another chance to go to southern California and took in a day at Disneyland. Jim and Mae spent the entire day with their friends from Ohio; Joe, Sarah, and Jared Sellers (and Sam, Jared's girlfriend). What a fun time for all of them! Mae had a couple of stuffed Pokemon to give Sarah and Sam (who were thrilled!!). And the last day on Wade, Mae and Owen's passes were used up. Trevor was swimming at Sectionals and Mom was working. Time moves on...

Eugene--TrackTown USA

Two weeks ago Wade, Owen and I were whisked up to Eugene, Oregon for an optometry job interview for Wade. What a fun trip! Beautiful time of year there. And as luck would have it, the USA Track and Field Olympic trials were being held at the University of Oregon that week! The one day we were there most of the day was a day off, so no events were being held, but we walked around campus and saw a lot of athletes and coaches there and around town. Pretty great. And Owen sure enjoyed the plane ride. He took a cell phone photo of the propeller! Turned out so cool.

It looks like we won't take the job, but we sure appreciated the first class treatment and the chance to see TrackTown USA!

San Fran

Trevor's friend Aditya came to California for a week-long leadership camp at Stanford and came a few days early to hang out with Trevor. He is a fun kid and Trevor enjoyed going to San Fran with him and the fam.

Pat and Nolan on their way to China!

One night we happily heard that Pat and Nolan were on a long layover in the San Francisco airport. We hopped in the car and picked them up with just enough light left to see a bit of the city as we drove to the Fog City Diner right downtown for a bite to eat. Very nice food and the BEST company! How exciting for the Mackays to be heading out to tour China for a couple of weeks! 


 The nice post script was having Pat call after they were back home and hearing a report of the countryside, the Terracotta Warriors, Beijing, and Pat being at the Great Wall of China on her birthday! What a nice experience to be able to enjoy a little bit through them. We love visiting and being visited by family and friends, and hope it happens more often!
